I took this photo while strolling around Navy Pier in Chicago. It was a beautiful, clear day—perfect for sailing. Glancing over at this iconic lighthouse, I spotted the sailboat heading toward it and quickly grabbed a single shot before the sailboat disappeared behind the lighthouse.

The Tennessee Aquarium at Chattanooga Tennessee is one of the best in the world. The staff are training the young alligators to respond to names. The alligators are named after colors, which are painted on their toenails so trainers can tell them apart. Blue was hanging out on a log waiting for the trainers to serve up supper.
At the end of the line, the turntable is placed into action.
This is one of many hundreds of thousands of Sandhill Cranes that migrate through the state of Nebraska each year.
The Henry Doorly Zoo provides a great habitat to observe the many roaming giraffes.
